ProtectoSAN®
Take control of limescale with Dutypoint’s proven commercial electrolytic limescale inhibitor.
Dutypoint ProtectoSAN® is a uniquely powered electrolytic scale inhibitor kit for commercial hot water systems. Independently tested, it is a low-maintenance way to protect a property against the damaging and expensive impact of limescale.
The ProtectoSAN® solution is widely specified and installed in a range of sectors, such as manufacturing, hotels, retail and supermarkets, healthcare, education, and public authorities.

PROVEN PERFORMANCE
The electrolytic zinc anode technology as used in ProtectoSAN® is listed in the UK Building Regulations – Part L Building Services Compliance Guide, whereas “external to pipe” water conditioning techniques (for example, using magnetic or electronic effects) are not mentioned. ProtectoSAN®’s low-level zinc additions change the water chemistry and inhibit the formation of limescale by transforming calcium carbonate crystals so that they do not stick. Research reports from Cranfield University confirming the effectiveness of ProtectoSAN® zinc-based technology are available and will be provided upon request.
PROTECTOSAN® DELIVERS VALUE ENGINEERING
Research confirms that our ProtectoSAN® zinc treatment process does not decay after dosing, and its effectiveness is not impacted by water storage or agitation caused by passing through a booster set. ProtectoSAN® can be installed in the rising main before the water storage tank and booster set. Capex cost savings are probable because the rising main pipe size is often a smaller diameter than the hot and cold water distribution pipe sizes. As our treatment does not decay, we only need to install one ProtectoSAN® system to treat the whole location, which also offers an attractive value engineering opportunity.
NOTES
– Commissioning is included. It is important to include this, as the warranty is extended to 24 months. It also ensures that the ProtectoSAN® system is set up to match local water quality and plant operating conditions.
– Value engineering can be delivered by installing one ProtectoSAN® system in the rising main before a cold water storage tank. This is possible because inlet pipe sizes can be of a lower diameter than distribution network pipe sizes.
– One ProtectoSAN® can treat the whole location and is also available as a pack, excluding the filter.
